Retreat to Glendalough

My class, Fódla and four girls from Banba went on a outdoor retreat to Glendalough in Co.Wicklow. We left at 9.05am all wrapped up. The bus journey wasn't that long and we just talked about what we expected the retreat to be like. When we got to Glendalough it was windy but also sunny. We were  introduced to a Father and Sister who led us around the retreat. Not long after we started walking it started lashing and we had to walk in it too !! We seen many things on the retreat like St.Kevins monatry and his cross. I learned alot on the retreat like live life to the full, Take timeut to reflect reguarly and don't always go for the material things in life.

after the Retreat Ms.L asked us all to pick something the father said to us an make a picture out of it. Mine was to live life to the full so you have no regrets!!!

Swim A Mile

Last Friday 20th April all the T.Ys went to the N.A.C to take part in Annual Swim a Mile with A Swim. Everyone was really excited and so was I. We left School at 9:30 am and arrived in the N.A.C at 10 am. Everyone got dressed and then arrived at the poolside. My mam and dad were both there to sort everyone into their lanes. I started the swim off by diving in first and I started swimming my mile....
Everyone was so enthusiastic and couldn't wait to start. When I finished my mile in 18:30 minutes I was so happy because it was a P.B. No one else was finished so I started another mile. When everyone else was finished they all got Tee shirts and Bags. Anyone who swam the mile on their own got a Swim a Mile cap:)
We all got dresses really fast because we were going to Blanchardstown for Food.

We counted the amount of miles we swam and it totalled to around 42 miles, beating the previous record by 17 miles!!
I think everyone enjoyed themselves and I was so happy that everyone got involved because it meant alot to me for my Year to take part in this event.

Hope you had a great Easter :)

Well we are back to normality after a lovely 2 Week break from school. To be honest I did not do a whole lot cause I just wanted to relax. On Easter Sunday We had a lovely Big roast and we meet up with all the family. I am still eating chocolate eggs and I think i am sick of chocolate.
I want out with my friends to the local Cinema and Shopping  Centre, I went to dinner a few times, I went shopping, I chillaxed!! and I did some school project( They had to be done !!) I was hoping the weather would have been really nice so you can do more things outdoors and go on long random walks. How was your Easter??

The Best Moment of T.Y ?!!?

Well that's a hard one because the whole year was Brilliant and I'm sure the next few weeks are going to be great fun. But the one thing I think I really enjoyed because it challenged me mentally and physically as well as everyone else was the Brave Force Army Assault Course. On the way to Puddenhill where the Assault course is everyone was really nervous but excited and we all were saying we were just going to go for it !!
It was very hard but everyone completed it. Everyone was encouraging others and it just showed what T.Y is all about helping others before yourself. you were always cheering others on.

Even when we were on the bus home we were all talking about it and saying how well everyone performed !!

Tutorial on how to put a image into your blog

Here is how to insert an image into your blog and then how to add attribution:

  1. First you click on New Blog post.
  2. You then put a title on your blog post and type the information you want.
  3. If you are using a image from the web you find that image and copy the URL ( Web address) and paste it into the insert image bar.
  4. The image will appear on your blog. you click where you want it and what size you need it.
  5. If you use a image by someone else you need to acknowledge that by copying the website you found it or the person who took the photo and paste it onto your page so everyone who visits your blog knows who took it originally.

Using Images in your blog !

Why we should use images: Everyone should think before they publish their blogs. They should always considering putting an image in, whether it is something they personally took or a picture from the Internet they gives you a general idea what they are talking about. When a person who visits your blog sees pictures they are actually more likely to read your blog because they already have an idea what the post is about. Pictures improve your blog by making it clearier to people what you are talking about and it also adds colour to your blog.

How do you add images to your blog: If you are using blogger you go to the top of the page you are typing on and beside the word 'link' you see a picture and hoover over it and it should say 'Insert Image'. You click on it and up comes a page with 4 options from which you may want to get your photo from.
Your computer: Click Browse and all your pictures come up and click on them to upload, hold down CTRL if you want to upload multiples
From a URL: Find the image you want from the Internet and click Copy on the address bar and paste into the box and up comes the image. **Don't forget to include a source from which you found the picture**
From your blog: Click on the link and it will show you any pictures you have already on your blog.
From your phone: You need to have Google+ to upload pictures from your Phone.

Where do you get your images from and how to add the attribution:  You either have taking a picture that you want to show people who visit your blog or you find a picture from the web which you like. If you take a picture and upload it to your blog that is fine because you are the person who took the picture but if you upload a picture some else took you need to include a source back to were you found the picture because some people actually get paid to take pictures for newspapers and you may be breaching copyright laws because you need to pay money to use the picture or get the photographers permission.

Tutorial coming up next !!
