Sometimes in April... Film Workshop
Yesterday all the Transition Years went to the Library at 12:40pm to have our Lunch and then at 1:20pm we all sat down and got ourselves comfortable to watch a 2 and a half hour film called "Sometime in April". This film is about the Rwandan Genocide of 1994, it shows us the build up to the outbreak of violence and how the people in Rwanda struggled to survive the Genocide and the aftermath where everyone who survived are trying to find Reconciliation and cope with the lost of many of their loved ones. The story is based around two Brothers called Augustin Muganza who is a captain in the Rwandan Army and is married to a Tutsi Women and He has three kids who witness nearly 800,000 people been killed in 100 Days. One of Augustins kids Anne-Marie is killed during the film. Augustins Brother, Honoré Butera is working for a radio Station in Rwanda.
I was really shocked to see how much people got killed and how some people are so mental that they try wipe a whole Religion out.
We had a Worksheet to fill out during the film so we could keep our attention.
Fódla also were watching "Hotel Rwanda" in Religion Class and this is based around Genocide in Rwanda. It is terrible to see what goes on, on the other side of the World.
