Well if you know me well enough you probably already know I LOVE swimming. I swim 5 times a week with a Swim Team based in Palmerstown called "The Vikings" I know funny name I don't know who came up with it.
Every September when we go back to Full time training we are have to have set a goal out i.e To qualify for a specific Swim Gala. My goal this year was to get a specific time for a set of Galas in June and July that will then qualify me to swim an All-Ireland Galas .
Tomorrow there is a gala that will show me how much more I need to knock off my time to qualify. So far I need to knock of 3 seconds so I don't have far to go.
If you are reading this blog you probably think ' 3 Seconds' That's nothing but every .1 second counts so if i got a 1.01.95 in 100 f/c but needed a 1.01.85 I wouldn't be able to qualify !!

Greetings from droby.edublogs.org! I applaud you on your frequent use of your blog. That is something I have not yet been able to accomplish. I too am a swimmer, and you're right. Three seconds is a lot of time! Good luck swimming and keep up the blogging!
ReplyDeleteHi, Thank you for commenting :) I try to keep by Blog updated reguraly because we have an I.T class twice a week so we can blog then. My T.Y Co-ordinator sets us challenge and the next one is to write a post in a foreign language!! Do you have time to blog in school or do you have to do it at home? How often do you swim and do you have any specific goals for this year?

Hi Eimear! How is life in Ireland? I've been trying to find people from the UK at the blogging challenge website, but Ireland is just the same to me! I want to move to Scotland when I get older, and I think Ireland is absolutely beautiful. Do you live near Dublin? What's a transition year, by the way? I've never really heard of it before and I don't think we have it here in America. I'm not into swimming as in a swimming TEAM but I like to swim for fun! Nice blog by the way. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Eimear:) I'm glad you enjoy swimming, I love swimming especially when I go to the beach!!! It's Awesome! I really like your blog!
ReplyDeleteHi Bianca, Life in Ireland is great at the moment it is Spring but the weather is great this week( 20 Degrees) Normally it is wet and cold. Sometimes it rains throught Summer. I live just outside Dublin and Dublin is a great city there is alot to do and it has some lovely parks and scenery. There is concert halls and most of the big entertainment happens in Dublin.
ReplyDeleteIn Ireland the education system is that you start primary School at 5 years and spend 8 years there doing junior infants up to sixth class. You then go onto Secondary School ( High School) and spend 5-6 years there. First year up to sixth year. Fourth year is optional and is called "Transition Year" because we are moving from Junior Cycle to Senior Cycle. I love it becuase you get abreak from full on studying. Thanks for commenting on my blog :) What is the weather like in America now? Do you live near Florida? I would love to go to Florida I hear it is really nice and Universal Florida is great fun :)
Hi Claudia :) I like to go sea swimming too but in Ireland it is a big deal because the water is freezing and I do it in Winter and Summer. Last winter my swimming Team were doing a Christmas day swim ( It was snowing) but it was frozen so it was called off. We then did it on January 1st and it was freezing. We all did it in our swim togs :)
ReplyDeleteSo is transition year a full year of school, as the other ones, or something during the summer? That sounds like fun though. Do you still have the same school hours? I don't live near Florida, however I've been there several times. I live in a state called Iowa, which is known for our soybeans and corn. It's not my favourite state. The weather over here is nice. It was really warm in the middle of March, around 70 degrees fahrenheit, which is about 20, or more, degrees over there in Celsius. There is a high chance that I might just move to Florida next year, but I'm not for sure now. I've been to Universal quite a few times, but my favourite part would have to be the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the Simpson's Ride. Do you like Harry Potter? If so, you should visit my blog: www.myselfandpotter.blogspot.com :)
ReplyDeleteYes Transition Year starts in September and Ends in June like all the others. We have the same school hours. It is just like another year in school but more relaxed and laid back. So far we have gone places like bowling and outdoor adventure courses and we have taken part in a Army assault course which was hard.
ReplyDeleteI not a huge fan of Harry Potter but I'll check your blog out :)
